Cidercade Adventures In Retro Gaming

So while Marley is healing up nicely, she’s finally getting the best treatment available from us,  her loving fur parents and while this happens, we give her lots of love and kisses. She’s mostly better now with the occasion wound on her leg that needed to be bandaged but otherwise? She’s making great on her recovery and I thank my lucky stars every day that she survived in such condition when it could have been so much worse.

See, I grew up in the 90s’ as I was born in ’89 and so, I didn’t have the idea, the foggiest about gaming and arcades because I never went to them growing up because at that time, arcades were a dying breed and home consoles came back out with the NES(Nintendo Entertainment System) and I grew up with a Sega Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog; but regardless, my good friend from high school Stephen decided to take my husband and I to a very awesome arcade in Dallas. The drive was quite fun and Stephen’s driving is a bit erratic at times but he’s safe than most drivers I know. More than most and that includes my own family, sadly whose dysfunctional nature threatens to harm me so I stay away. My mother is one of those people, too.

So, Stephen took us to Cidercade

From everything you could think about: Pinball machines lined the walls, all sorts of older fighting games like Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct 1 and 2, Tekken 5 and 2, The Simpsons, Time Crisis 2, Street Fighter Turbo, The X-Men to even older games like what went on Atari and Vectrex games, and it just went on and on. I’ll let the pictures do the telling. Racing, Dancing, shooting games galore!

As it is noticed: New layout from Cristina of Lovemore and I cannot thank her enough for this layout and the Breath of the Wild theme of Mipha and Link. It’s simply gorgeous in every way and feels like a fairytale and a dream come true.

The 80s child in me…ok, I’m lying…is having a total freak out. I used to spend hours playing arcade games – any version of PacMan, Street Fighter, pinball games, etc. I am so glad to hear that your beloved furbaby Marley is getting better, and Cristina did a lovely job on this layout!

EEK! I just realized that I forgot to finish my thought in the first sentence…I’m such a ditz. But the lying was that not just my inner 80s child was freaking…I was having a freak out, all of me. <3

Love the new layout!

And yay for arcades! I never went much myself and not one as nice as that! I love older games like that!

Oh, wow, the arcade looks amazing! I’d love to visit an old school arcade at some point. I’ve been to modern ones in bowling alleys, but most of the games are terrible. The one you visited looks way cooler!

Glad to hear Marley’s getting better!
